The Telephone

My daughter
and I were playing Chutes & Ladders on
the dining table in our former apartment when we suddenly heard a loud buzzing kind of sound. It
sounded like water going through old pipes in a house or maybe a toilet
running. We checked the nearest bathroom, which is my daughter's. No
running water, but we could still hear the sound. Then it stopped for a
few seconds, then buzzed again for a few seconds. I stood in the
hallway as it did this several more times before I figured out the noise was
coming from my daughter's room.
My daughter has a habit of leaving her TV on after a video is over. Her vcr has
an automatic shut off after 5 minutes of no activity, but her TV doesn't.
So I figured it was static coming from her TV. I checked it. The TV was
OFF.
As we both stood there trying to figure out what the noise could have been, we
heard it again. It was coming from a electronic pull-toy, a phone
that my mom had given my daughter for Christmas 2 years ago. I stood over it and
said out loud, "what the hell?" because I could not figure
out how the phone could be making that intermittent buzzing sound.
And my daughter piped up, "are the batteries going?" I said they
probably were and I bent over & was just about to pick up the phone when the
buzz stopped again and we both heard a MAN'S VOICE and it said a very long and
drawn out, "I"
Then he said, "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmmmmmmm".
"I am," in a male voice.
This phone is set up with a woman's voice and animal sound effects.
NO male voice. And there is NOTHING on this phone's programming or
whatever it has that says, "I am". Nothing!
The hair on the back of my neck stood up. I've never felt that before and
I have experienced many things. My daughter said, "Mommy! there's a man talking through my phone!
Pick it up & ask who he is!" I thought, "like hell I
will!" I put out my arm to hold her back. The phone then began
it's buzz again and I quickly reached down and turned it off.
I was really freaked. Badly. I remember seeing an old "Twilight
Zone" episode
about a little boy whose grandma gave him a toy phone, then after she died they
spoke through it and she tried to convince him to go for a walk into the pool so
he'd die, too. His parents figured out what was going on just in time
& saved the kid and ditched the phone.
I don't think this incident would have gotten to me nearly so badly if it didn't happen
with one of my child's toys. Then, my daughter says, "Oh, that
phone talks all the time with voices." I asked her if she just meant
the normal things it says or if she heard other voices, but she shrugged the
whole thing off and wanted to go back to playing our game. I didn't want
to spook her so I did not pursue the subject with her any further. When
she wasn't looking I threw the phone in the garbage.
This incident coincided with a series of nightmares my daughter had of a man entering her room and staring at her from the foot of her bed. I did a series of three Banishing Rituals and got rid of the nightmares, as well as the Spirit who was causing them. Months later I asked a Psychic about this situation. She knew nothing of where we lived and she told me that our home was surrounded by woods and that years ago a man had used a toy phone to lure a little girl into the woods where he killed her. She said his Spirit was now trapped there, not knowing he was dead, and he had attempted to line up my daughter as his next victim. Had I known this at the time of the incident, I would have insisted to my husband that we move immediately and break our lease!
